Magickal Tools
The Altar
Altars consist of tools belonging to the witch or the practictioner of magick. The altar serves its purpose as a center of ritual. It can be as simple as a table that's been blessed, with an affirmed intention. The altar is a sacred space where you can perform rituals or spells, it serves as a focus point for your energy. You can decorate your altar and tailor it so that it holds personal meaning for you.
Keeping it clean and organized is down to you. Sometimes the layout of the altar is essential to the workings of what you are working on to manifest.
The Athame
An athame is a ritual dagger, used to magick and witchcraft to direct energy. An athame has its purpose to carve sigils on tools like candles, and also can be used to cut magickal cords/ties.
Traditionally, an athame has a black handle and a double edged blade. It is only used for energy practices only.
When choosing a tool, its best to go for the one that you feel calls out to you as that's the one that's going to be working with you for the time of practice.
Besom, or as we know it - The Broom
The broom is the instrument for clearing out the old to make space for the new, whether its sweeping your chakras free of old stagnant energy or whether its clearing a way of stagnant energy from your situation. The broom is the ideal focus for helping you clear what's needed to be cleared away magickally.
Its always wise to sweep away your space to keep it clear and free from negative energy before every practice that you do so that the energy is clear and positive for you to work with.
The Book of Shadows
The book of shadows is a journal, a grimoire, that documents recipes, rituals and spells together as well as personal notes and thoughts, feedback as to how the workings went. A book of shadows is a journal where you keep record information of your own path and practice. A grimoire derived from the term of Grammaire simply means a book that's written in Latin. A book of shadows term was coined since 1940.
Candles
Candles is by far the tool some practictioners use for light, it is connected to the fire energy, which is reflective of movement and action, power and magickal mojo. It provides you with the oomph of strength you need to get work done, with what you need to manifest. Spell candles burn for as long as you want them to, I personally use tea lights or pillar candles, sometimes they burn for the length of time that you need them for which is up to 1-2 hours in total.
With the right intention, you can manifest anything that your ascertained intention can manifest... believe it until you see it happening in your life.
Cauldron
The Cauldron is representative of the element of water. But is often used to brew herbs, teas, elixirs or potions, remedies with. You can add and mix and match the essential oils with their properties as long as you know their magickal benefits.
Just make sure you clean and bless, wash it before personally using it.
